AION is the electrified car brand from GAC, the long-established Chinese car manufacturer offering innovation, exceptional design and connectivity.
AION cars are designed in dedicated studios in Milan, Los Angeles, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
The corporation’s history began in 1954, and it has joint ventures with both Honda and Toyota, manufacturing cars in China that have been sold worldwide since 2005 including in the UK.

International experience and style
AION cars are developed through collaboration between the corporation’s in-house design teams from across the world. The European Design Centre in Milan is led by Stephane Janin, bringing rich European experience to the design of the full AION range.
Europe is a key market for AION and the corporation has opened a commercial office and parts distribution centre in mainland Europe to provide full support and deliver outstanding customer service across the region.
In the UK AION will be led by an experienced British management team in partnership with well-established, successful retail organisations to deliver the best purchasing and ownership experience for customers.
UK joint venture
AION cars will be distributed in the UK through a joint venture with Jameel Motors, one of the world’s longest established automotive distribution organisations, founded more than 80 years ago.
Jameel Motors represents some of the world’s most recognised vehicle brands and has operations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia.
The joint venture with GAC will be one of the first of its kind with a Chinese auto maker in the UK and represents a shared vision, and an exciting opportunity to meet the UK’s growing demand for smarter, cleaner passenger vehicles.
This joint venture builds on the existing partnership between GAC and Jameel Motors across Europe, Asia and Africa.
